Best Places for Piercing in Toronto

Where to Get Pierced in Toronto?

Piercings are a great way to accentuate your favorite features while expressing your personality. They're less permanent than tattoos but still offer much of the same experience of working with a body art professional to achieve your desired result. When you start looking for a piercing studio, your first thought should be to look for a shop that is hygienic, professional, and creative. Many professional piercers are artists who understand that piercings aren't ways to accessorize; they're expressions of your personality, and obviously, you'll want the best piercing Toronto has to offer. One of the most reputable piercing studios in Toronto is Chronic Ink. This business started out as a tattoo parlour in the Pacific Mall, but they've expanded their operations to additional forms of body art in multiple locations over Toronto and even in Vancouver. Despite their growth, they've retained their dedication to high-quality work, and all their spaces are clean, bright, and professional. Regardless of whether you're getting your first piercing or you're a veteran, you'll find the staff and artists at Chronic Ink to be helpful, professional, and friendly while guiding you through the process. If you're looking to visit one of the best piercing places Toronto has, make sure to visit Chronic Ink. Chronic Ink has locations in downtown and midtown Toronto, as well as in Markham. Every location offers the same commitment to quality piercing standards, so all piercings are done by hand and there's a huge emphasis on aftercare. All barbells, studs, and rings are made from titanium, which is both durable and lightweight, and you'll have plenty of different options to choose from. With renowned piercing experts like Fae McArthur and Gina, you'll always get the best service possible.

Ear Piercing

Ear piercings are the most common and ubiquitous type of piercing, which means that most people get them done in shops that are unhygienic and unprofessional, with little thought given to proper care and healing. If you see someone hauling out a piercing gun, walk out of the shop and find a professional piercing studio instead. If you're looking to get the best ear piercing Toronto has, there are plenty of reputable piercing places that are happy to take walk-in customers. By working with professionals, you'll be sure that the location of your ear piercing is exactly where you want it and that the actual process will be done with sterile needles. When you come to Chronic Ink, you'll also get plenty of advice on piercing aftercare, as well as a good selection of accessories from spikes to studs and everything in between. With plenty of locations in Toronto, there's sure to be one nearby whenever the mood for a new piercing strikes you. Ear Piercing

Nose Piercing

Nose piercings tend to be the next step for people bitten by the piercing bug. They're more visible than ear piercings and make a much bolder statement. They're also slightly more painful than ear piercings, but not by much. When getting a nose piercing in Toronto, make sure to do your research into reputable studios, as well as what the process actually entails. Also, take a look at the type of nose piercings and nose rings available before you go in for your appointment, since you'll be surprised at the sheer variety of options out there. Also, be very careful about the metal you choose for your nose ring or stud. Some metals such as nickel and silver can cause allergies, and silver in particular leads to nasty bacterial growth. Make sure to chat to your piercing artist about what material they'd recommend. Chronic Ink carries a wide variety of titanium products, since it's the safest metal for all body jewelry, in addition to looking great. Nose Piercing

Body Piercing

Body piercing is for people who aren't satisfied with ear and nose piercings. What's great about them is the sheer variety of options you have. Whether you're looking at something fairly common, like a navel piercing, or something a bit more on the extreme side, there are plenty of piercing shops in Toronto that will be able to meet your needs. Don’t take the cheapest route on body piercings. Instead of stopping off at the first shop you find, try to do some research and find the best shop you can. When you start getting into the extremes of body piercing, it's vital to have an artist that you trust and who you can work with to get your desired result. Tongue Piercing

How Old Do You Need to Be to Get a Piercing?

Health Canada, the country's health regulator, doesn't actually set a legal age limit on piercings, though it does have a set of guidelines to help protect public health. What this means is that the minimum age is usually set by different provinces and municipalities, and if they don't set a legal age minimum, it's up to the piercing studio's judgment. Many studios will set up guidelines that prevent minors from getting piercings without parental consent, and most studios will place a further age limit on more extreme body piercings such as nipple and genital piercings. Other studios will also refuse to do piercings on children and babies for ethical reasons, regardless of parental consent. The Ontario Health Ministry has placed guidelines for piercing studios in Toronto that require that the shop to keep records of the person's name, contact details, and procedure for at least five years, but it doesn't actually set out an age requirement. However, most reputable piercing shops won't perform piercings on teens under the age of 16 without parental consent. Chronic Ink follows a similar set of guidelines. Teenagers under the age of 16 need parental consent, and 16 year olds and older can get facial and ear piercings. However, you need to be over 18 for genital and nipple piercings. The shops also provide tons of verbal and written information about how to care for the piercing, following the recommended best practices by the Ontario Health Council, to ensure that you avoid getting any kind of infection.
